Star Wars Birthday Party Tutorial

Last week I shared our Star Wars Birthday Party food, activities, and decorations as we as the party costs with you.

Today I want to go into more detail on the Pool noodle light sabers that we used for costumes and activities. The DIY light sabers served as a costume prop for the kids as well as a tool used in a balloon storm trooper fight! You can make these for yourself using this simple tutorial!

What is a Star Wars party without light sabers? It wasn’t cost effective (or smart) to buy 20 plastic lightsabers for the kids so we made our own!

What You Need:

  • Pool noodles (1/2 the amount that you need)
  • Silver Duct Tape
  • Black Electrical Tape

Directions:

STEP 1

First, you will need to cut all of the pool noodles in half to make 2 DIY light sabers per pool noodle.

STEP 2

Then, wrap three strips of silver duct tape around the bottom of each noodle. This makes the “metal” handle.

STEP 3

Now, wrap one strip of electrical tape around the top and bottom of the duct tape for handle trim.
