Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday! There is such a special feeling in the air and it is can be an incredible time to connect with the people around us.
But… we don’t always let the goodness of the season shine through… We stress ourselves out with gift buying, party planning, and all the other fun (but stressful) things that come along with Christmas.
The Christmas season can be overwhelming & rushed.
Taking the time to slow down, enjoy family, and remember why we celebrate Christmas to begin with can make all the difference in the world!
Remembering to slow down, though… that’s where we mess up. We get so caught up in the rush that we simply forget to enjoy it and feel thankful.
I GET IT!
For years I felt extremely stressed around the holiday season and could not look forward to it.
I finally decided that having a visible reminder to slow down every.single.day was necessary for my family.
And now I am SO excited to share that “visible reminder” with you!!
The Christmas Advent Countdown Cards

This Christmas tradition started a couple of years ago for us.
I knew that I wanted to have something that we could see each day to remind us to to take time as a family to slow down & be thankful… I also knew that I wanted to teach my kiddos about Jesus’ birth and the events leading up to it.
I created the Advent Countdown Calendar Cards and they have worked great for us and I hope your family loves them, too!
How to Use these Christmas Advent Cards
First, you will need to print the cards out on card stock paper. Print pages 2-7 front and back.
Then, cut the cards out. Since taking these photos, I moved the verse into the wreath to make the squares more uniform and easier to cut out.
Next, hang a piece of twine where you want to display your Christmas Advent Cards. Attach the cards to the twine with clothespins date side out.
Each day, flip the respective card over, complete the family task, and read the Scripture found on the back.
If you don’t have space to hang the cards like this, you could also cut them out and place them in numbered envelopes. Punch a hole in the corner of each envelope and tie them together with twine.
Check a new envelope each day and watch how excited the kids are to see what activity is in store & what part of Jesus’ birth story you will get to read about!
