White Pepper Gravy

  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 2 TBSP flour
  • 1 cup whole milk {+/- a little depending on your preferred thickness}
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

  • Heat a skillet or sauce pan and add the butter.
  • Once the butter is melted, add half of the flour and whisk, then add the remaining flour.
  • Continue whisking. The flour and butter will become thick and lumpy.
  • Whisk the milk in slowly. The milk will break up the lumps and start to form this delicious gravy.
  • After all of the milk, flour, and butter are incorporated together, you can add more milk if you want to make a thinner gravy or if you just want a larger amount of gravy. This recipe as it is makes enough gravy for about two people.
  • Add the salt & pepper.
  • Enjoy over homemade flaky biscuits or with fried chicken tenders!
