Heat a skillet or sauce pan and add the butter.
Once the butter is melted, add half of the flour and whisk, then add the remaining flour.
Continue whisking. The flour and butter will become thick and lumpy.
Whisk the milk in slowly. The milk will break up the lumps and start to form this delicious gravy.
After all of the milk, flour, and butter are incorporated together, you can add more milk if you want to make a thinner gravy or if you just want a larger amount of gravy. This recipe as it is makes enough gravy for about two people.
Add the salt & pepper.
Enjoy over homemade flaky biscuits or with fried chicken tenders!
