Homemade Poppyseed Dressing


  • 1/4 cup Mayo
  • 2 TBSP White Sugar or local Honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp Spicy Mustard
  • 2 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 TBSP Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil
  • 1 TBSP Poppyseeds
  • 1/2 tsp Salt


 STEP 1. Gather All Ingredients and Supplies

  • Make sure that you have all of the ingredients out and ready to go before you start. Go ahead and grab a medium mixing bowl and a whisk as well as a container to put the dressing in after it is mixed.Laying everything out keeps you from running back and forth to the pantry/fridge during the prep time and it allows you to know if you are missing anything before you get started. 

STEP 2. Mix Everything Together

  • Combine all of the ingredients for this poppyseed dressing recipe into your medium mixing bowl. Whisk them together until they are well combined and the dressing is smooth and creamy. You can also use a food processor for this step if you prefer that over a whisk.Pour the dressing into a small bowl, a ramekin, a bottle, a jar, or straight onto your salad.

 STEP 3. Enjoy!

*Serve chilled or room temp.
*If you have some poppyseed dressing leftover, you can store it in a mason jar or other food storage container for about a week.
*This recipe makes enough dressing for one family-sized pasta salad or two-three side salad portions.
